The compact size of this device is terrific, and I've used it in a pinch to jump start cars before. One thing to be mindful of, however, is that the cables are extremely short. This does help the device to be stored more neatly, but it also means that finding a place to set the device down while you are jumping a car can be a bit awkward because the cables don't reach very far.
One other thing that some people may find helpful - the "energy complaint" version of the product can apparently be left plugged in "with no adverse effect." To me, this is worth the extra few dollars so I don't have to worry about remembering to unplug the product.
